Robert Greer is the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and a founding member of Town Mountain, the string band that formed in the mid-2000s. Town Mountain blends hard-driving bluegrass with honky-tonk and country-rock, and earned the IBMA Momentum Award for Band of the Year in 2013 — the same year Robert took home the IBMA Momentum Award for Vocalist of the Year.

The band’s cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire” (from 2008’s Heroes & Heretics) has racked up tens of millions of Spotify streams on the strength of Robert’s distinctive Southern drawl. Raised between South Georgia and Brevard, NC, he carries a Jimmy Martin–style fire as a frontman: eager to push the band and the room into overdrive, then bring it down to a whisper without anyone seeing the move.
