Dennis Crouch is one of Nashville’s most prolific session bassists, known for a deep, woody upright tone and an unshakeable sense of feel across Americana, bluegrass, country, and roots rock. He co-founded the Western swing group The Time Jumpers in 1998 and played bass on Robert Plant and Alison Krauss’s five-Grammy-winning Raising Sand, as well as Alison Krauss’s Wildwood Flower with Ralph Stanley.

His credits stretch from Elton John & Leon Russell’s The Union and Gregg Allman’s Low Country Blues to Diana Krall’s Wallflower, Bob Dylan’s T-Bone Burnett-produced re-recordings, and Ringo Starr’s 2025 country album Look Up. Raised in Arkansas and based in Nashville since 1996, Dennis brings a touring-and-tracking veteran’s instinct to every session — pocket first, taste deep, and a tone the room recognizes the second the bow comes down.
